With a rich history spanning 90 years, the firm (and its predecessors) have cultivated a well-established reputation for delivering reliable and comprehensive legal advice tailored to each client's unique needs. Austin Giugni Martin Lawyers are proud to represent a diverse range of local, national and international families & businesses.

The roots of our legacy trace back to the 1930s in Sydney, where Reginald Gates and his wife Gwen Moffit founded our predecessor firm, Gates Moffit. Over the decades, the firm expanded, establishing an Eastwood branch in the 1950s.

The Eastwood branch flourished, and was succeeded by Thomas Curran and Kenneth Austin in the 1960s when Reginald Gates retired. Although the city branch closed in the early 1970s, the Eastwood branch continued to thrive, clients appreciating the approachability, accessibility and excellent results provided.

Michael Giugni became a partner of the firm in 1992. The practice continued as Gates Moffit until 2004 when the firm name was changed to Austin & Giugni.

Kenneth Austin retired in 2014, at which time Jessica Martin, a senior solicitor and long-time associate of Austin Giugni, joined Michael Giugni as a partner and the firm became known as “Austin Giugni Martin”.

Now supporting many solicitors, a licensed conveyancer and an experienced & diverse team of law clerks, Austin Giugni Martin is well-equipped to handle all of your legal needs with it's characteristic care, sensitivity and reliability that has led to our firm retaining many life-long clients.

Jessica joined Austin & Giugni, the predecessor law firm to Austin Giugni Martin, in 2000. She provides advice to a varied portfolio of clients whilst managing day-to-day aspects of the legal practice.With a critical legal mind and practical judgment, Jessica is readily referred by individuals and businesses to provide commercially sound legal advice and strategy in most areas of general legal practice, including property law, commercial law, wills, estates and family law.

Our Law Clerkship Program

At Austin Giugni Martin, we are committed to investing in the growth of the next generation of legal practitioners. We have a long tradition of providing mentorship, training and practical experience to law students through our Law Clerkship Program.

Our program aims to foster a dynamic learning environment where aspiring legal professionals can further develop their skills and gain invaluable insights into the legal field. As part of our commitment to nurturing talent, law clerks at AGM have the opportunity to work closely with experienced solicitors, participating in real-world matters, legal research and client interactions. We recognize the importance of hands-on experience in shaping successful legal careers, and our Clerkship program is designed to offer a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of legal practice. We take pride in cultivating a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that encourages law clerks to ask questions, seek guidance, and actively engage in meaningful work, preparing them for the challenges of the legal profession.

Many of our clerks transition into flourishing legal careers, securing positions at diverse firms across various practice areas. Additionally, some have been extended offers for graduate roles within our firm.

The hiring process:

We announce opportunities for Law Clerk positions through university job portals as they arise. A commitment of at least 2 days per week is expected from our law clerks. If you are interested in applying for our upcoming recruitment cycle, please submit your resume and cover letter. Should we consider you for our selection pool, we will reach out to you. It’s worth noting that many law clerks choose to stay with us throughout the duration of their degree(s), leading to potential extended wait periods between application rounds.
